@michonnesheadband Yay! I'm not very good at making whole stories but I'm better at making one shots. I've always liked the idea of this trope but have never been able to give it justice. I've also only ever seen Negans daughter books so I think this would be a fresh idea. I've always thought that Carl might quickly meet her at some point before the fall of the prison and then when the prison falls him and Rick bump into her and since Rick isn't truly cruel to a kid would allow her to come along with them, though Carl would not at all be happy about it. Kind of like enemies to lovers trope

I know it's Canon that Penny was the Governors daughter so maybe she could have a sister or if you just don't want that we could pretend that Penny didn't exist or something. The 1st chapter could be the day before the apocalypse happened, showcasing what home life looked like, if it was abusive or not. Since the Governor in my opinion is one of the most disturbing people the group comes across
