@manimurariki_ I'm not a pro on Wattpad as an author, but I've been browsing the site for quite a while, and I know that some chapters get very few views while others get a lot—even though the content of these chapters isn’t necessarily more interesting or exciting than the ones with fewer views.
            
            Also, I've noticed two things:
            // Not reading certain chapters happens especially when the chapters have titles, because it gives a vague idea of the chapter's content. 
            Readers who aren't fully immersed in the story will often go straight to the 'essence' of it.
            Using just a chapter number might seem less 'catchy', but that way, the reader won’t skip large portions of the story just to read or discover the parts they're interested in.
            
            // The second thing, which I think applies to your case, is when the story doesn’t have many chapters yet. 
            In those cases, readers tend to jump straight to the latest or last few chapters, because they want to see how the story is progressing.
            For example, in your case, you've published 7 chapters. 
            If, after reading chapter 7 (and only this one), readers feel like they already know the entire story, it’s pretty telling for what comes next. 
            On the other hand, if there are just a few details revealed but enough suspense to keep them hooked, they’ll be more likely to go back and read the earlier chapters.
            
            I think most readers who skip some chapters are new ones discovering your work...

@manimurariki_ I don't know if this will be true for you, but this is my experience and what I have found. When I was writing The Heeseung Complex I noticed this and have since with most of my stories. Yes, there are readers that will skip entire chapters. There are others that will go back and just re-read their favorite chapters. Also, every time you edit that chapter, it counts as a view as well. If a reader stops in the middle of a chapter and goes to do something and Wattpad refreshes and they come back, it counts as another view.

@manimurariki_ YOIII POOKIE~ i honestly had the same question. the first chapter in my book is getting more views than the second. as if my readers dont know about it? idk whats going on. like in my laptop the first chapter and second chapter are in order but in my phone (app) it is in the last(i added the second chapter later after making a layout of how the chapters would play)

@ssooyyeeoonn Ok so for this book at first it will start with looking like a childhood romance but then transition to more of thriller more into the story that is being built up rn. As for the MC ending up with someone theirs lowkey going to be a twist to that (if i give any more info it will be a spoiler im sorry :,)) but yea i understand for now it's confusing but it will all come tgt soon

            I totally agree to keep our conversation between us (definition of 'between us'? Well... without her. I’m a terrible person, I know, I know).
            To be completely honest, I enjoyed our exchanges just as much as reading some of my books :)
            Good luck with your exams, and most importantly, don’t fall into a pre-calculated posting routine to the point where you stress out if you haven’t posted anything.

@TheJaylineEffect honestly I would love to have your colleague join but I don’t think they will get us (un)fortunately. So let’s just keep it between us and let them stay curious :) i will try to post quite frequently for the next week or 2 but its almost exam season so I might have to switch to once or twice a week till the end of may so I completely understand saving a few chapters.

            I’m going to save a few chapters for later so I can binge-read several in a row… 
            I know all too well how frustrating it is to read one chapter and then desperately wait for the next!
            
            Earlier, you mentioned blushing in public, and people staring at you like you were insane… Well, I’m not blushing right now, but I think I’ve definitely piqued my nearest (not dearest) colleague’s curiosity by furiously typing away on my phone while texting you. 
            Maybe I should invite them to join our conversation? (Purely hypothetical, of course).

@manimurariki_ I’m glad I could offer you a good point and your desire to keep your story from becoming too weird is respectable, but if I may offer a small, humble advice: staying close to reality isn’t the most important thing when writing fiction. 
            What truly matters is being… original.
            If someone is looking for factual truths about vampires (in sunlight), I doubt they’d come to read a fanfiction on Wattpad.
            And honestly, your idea of having one or more characters in your story under the sun already makes me want to read your book. 
            Why? Because it would be unexpected! 
            The key is to surprise the reader, not just tell them what they already know—don’t you think?
            As you said yourself: this is literally your own work. So don’t hold back—make it exactly how you want it to be! : )
