there is a great love in simple existence

beneath the sunshine of summer evenings
filtering between the leaves of trees,
i lie awake and restless, basking in the days
of what is to come in my future

within the woven waves of the ocean,
the ones that beckon me home
they beg me to return to a place
where I can watch stars fall into the sea

back behind the memories of my youth,
in the fountains of eternal childhood
where my projects of old and young 
lay accumulated at my feet

there is a great joy in living

and I can't spend it all here
