"I'd told myself so many contradictory things. That I was in love, and not only that but it was a Great Love, and to walk away would be a denial of my life.

And then, alternately, that I was having some insane infatuation, that it was a heart-twisting moment in time that would eventually pass, and I had to be strong.

I didn't see why loving someone had to have so much agony attached to it. It felt like a series of fresh cuts in the skin of my heart."

@WhatAtinyWorld agree!!! Shouldn't loving someone be the easiest thing in general. Idky people glorify passion over peace

Yesterday my aunt told me, in regards to my aforementioned concerning taste in men:

"...come to terms with the fact that no person in your life will ever fulfill that need. It is not possible. Because that need started in you as child. And you can never be a child again. So the need will never be fulfilled. Ever. Accepting that is the hardest part of the whole thing."

          And that's really scaring me

WhatAtinyWorld

@_lunarine_ hi!! I'm so sorry, how did I not even see this?! Well, the need, in the basic grasp I've had of it, is that my dad sucked as a father AND a husband. Most people's dads did apparently. So it's parental love: that's the need. Safety. Because I never felt safe as a child with my dad around. I was only safe with my mom. But I don't think it even has to be from a man, just someone with what's considered "masculine" energy. But to answer your question, I honestly don't yet have an idea

@wonderlino whatever "need" I chose spencer for. Male validation I guess, but I need to figure it out more

At what age do I have to stop blaming my horrible taste in men to the fact that my dad hated my mom growing up?

_lunarine_

@ WhatAtinyWorld since the age you started to realize the kind of relationship those two actually had .

Oh.... For heaven's sake. Right when was getting back into kpop, trying to rationalize supporting celebrities, Hobi has to do something so ignorant as post himself with Starbucks.

For anyone who doesn't know, Starbucks is one of the main boycotts against the Israeli occupation and genocide in Palestine. Starbucks ITSELF, as a company, isn't the issue, but one of its main shareholders, howard schultz, is a known zionist who still keeps over $2 billion in financial ties to Starbucks and has long standing political ties with Israel.

Back in 2023, Starbucks also sued its worker's union for posting pro-Palestine content.

Whether or not someone thinks these are reasons enough to boycott Starbucks, it's still just in horrible taste to be blatantly aligning yourself with a company Socially tied to ongoing genocide

@essayonlove oh he is!! I do believe he's genuinely sweet. I know he wants to make the world a better place, a piece of peace. But yeah... dense is a good way to say it
