@Myforeverlove_BTS In MDZS, there is no plainly black or white characters. By this I mean the original version we all read. Perhaps my attempt at potraying this imbalance of caring and not caring, hating and questioning, was flawed.
It is true that certain characters aren't given much depth - Yu Ziyuan for example. But based off of who they are and their story you can gouge the meaning of their actions and guess at what their 'grey' dilemmas may be. I tried to potray this in this book.
Yes, they do bad things, but they aren't necessarily bad people. People like Wen Rouhan, whose name is only mentioned more often than not are especially interesting to tweak with for the sake that they were potrayed as one and we could only guess at the existence of the other side - we're all human after all.
But, this just to say, most MDZS characters are YinYang - no one is pure evil, no one is purely good.
Not even Yu Ziyuan, not even Lan WangJi. All do good and wrong whether shown in the book or not.
So I'll go back to the fact that maybe this wasn't your complaint, but inconsistency as you said. I apologise if the analysis of this concept is stiffly done. I will try to improve the fluidity of my writing in the future. As for the extras, I mostly write those when I get bored of the story. I have read the novel and seen all the other versions way to many times to count, so sometimes I get bored and that's why I just don't write sometimes. But I guess the pacing does matter and it does distrupt it.
Either way, you said it yourself, you're not forced to read my book. But I'm still glad you did, and I'm glad you said something.
I will take it as criticism instead of hate. The fact I'm responding means I'm willing to listen. So, even though you disliked it, thank you for reading Threads of Regret and thank you for writing this. It means a lot. I will try to improve my character analysis, but there is only so much I can though in a book with this structure.
Anyways, thanks!
