Hey Everyone. Recently a reader has asked me two what ifs, what if Yuya had starving venom and what if Yuto had absorbed Yuya instead. I am only using characters within arc-v, not the added ones I have in my story (that means like no kaiba, no Yubel, etc.). Now, I'll answer the questions.
1. What if Yuya had starving venom fusion dragon instead of Odd-Eyes. This is a complicated one to answer because it depends if Yuya just has starving venom vs havving Yuri's deck and starving venom. If Yuya had Starving Venom then he'd be as strong as he was in the Arc League Championship tournament (The one in season 1 of Arc-V). He most likely wouldn't develop pendulum summoning until later (or if he does at all because in this timeline, Yuri has Odd-Eyes), like during the battle royal since Starving venom is a MUCH stronger dragon than Odd-Eyes is, he'd never be pushed that far to resort to using it. But things change if he has Yuri's deck. If he has Yuri's deck than he is as strong as Yuri pre-Yugo absorption. That means he is most likely stronger than every opponent he faces (like Gongenzaka and Isao), the only ones he would struggle with in season 1 would be Yuto, Yugo and Reiji. But this also leads to Reiji never discovering Pendulum Summoning, which means a lot of duelists are weaker (especially Shingo). Over all, I will never do this what if because the end result is obvious, Leo succeeds in reviving Ray (Essentially he never loses to Reiji and Yuya timeline since they don't have pendulum summoning).
2. What if Yuto absorbed Yuya. Easy, nothing would change! No like seriously, just replace Yuto with Yuya and nothing changes that drastically. Sure Yuya competes in the arc league championship, but only the battle royal matters anyways. Just replace Yuya with Yuto during the Friendship cup. Sure, some minor things may change, like interactions, but they don't matter to the overall plot of the series. Yuto would essentially just be a darker version of Yuya.
