disappointed but not surprised with the uk government. once again this is proof that governing bodies of every country simply do not give a single fuck about you as a person. your rights as a human being only matter when it can benefit them and it is an utter disgrace. it's times like these that make me wish i had been born in the republic of ireland instead of the north. the republic has its issues but i don't believe they have ever so boldly denied a human being their right to exist as they wish. (i could be wrong as i am not educated in the republic's history of law).
i just cannot believe how backward the world is becoming. the progress of the last couple years has quickly faded away. people who were once progressive have become warped by their government's views on human beings. it's a sad sad day when trans women aren't recognised as women solely because of their biological sex at birth. it is a sad day when the US is ruled by an orange faced tyrant determined to ruin the lives of his own people.
i am just so disappointed.
yellowjackets fic rant
I’m so conflicted at the moment. A lot of what happened this season had seriously messed up my plans for Nola and even for Stevie. Characters that shouldn’t have died did and characters that definitely shouldn’t have survived have and it’s really bugging me. I really thought I had a grasp of the direction the show was going so I planned my plot accordingly but now that has all gone to hell.
This is mostly why I haven’t published a new chapter in a while cause I’m struggling to write properly and I don’t want to publish a subpar chapter that I’ll regret.
Anyway I will persevere.

So now that ive had time to think it over, ive decided that I’m not fond of the direction the show is going. I was really psyched for a group of crazy cannibals who went completely off the rails and lost all their morals but instead the only people this applies to is shauna and Lottie. It’s annoying that it was presented to us this way only to have it that the rest apparently don’t enjoy being out there or doing the hunts when in season one they definitely did even if it was in a mushroom enhanced state.
It just feels like suddenly the girls minus Shauna and Lottie are all suddenly morally sound again. Van in particular is odd. She was so invested in the wilderness, in following Lottie in season one, even in season two. Now she abhors everything they’ve done, saying “we ate a fucking kid” when she literally told Travis to basically get over himself over Javi’s death.
It’s as if the writers decided that only a few could be villainous while the rest kept their morality close to their chests. It’s just disappointing to believe a show is heading in one direction only for it to shift on its axis.

I get this but I think seeing the show go the opposite direction with not all the girls being absolutely barbaric was planned since the beginning, the opening scene of the whole show being the pit girl death is giving us something out of context. we go into this show thinking the girls are going to become batshit crazy and kill people with no remorse, but as the show goes on we start to understand the complexities of the characters, their backgrounds etc and understand that with context they’re not all evil and are just scared teenagers who want to go home. as a former film student who developed scripts, it was actually a really creative storytelling choice. is the whole show consistent in terms of the teen timeline and how it connects to the adult timeline? no. but i don’t think the show was misleading for not making all the characters evil. we, as the audience, were just lacking context before we got to know and understand the story and the characters within it.
Juliette leaving messed up everything. I always found the situation with Van to be odd, you were the one of the ones to advocate for eating Javi with initially no remorse. I know as time goes on and they have game she can realize what they did was wrong but what triggered her in those months we missed.
Not only that you are correct, they made it seem like everyone was involved in what happened but now it’s Lottie and Shauna? Also Melissa was Shauna number one enabler, but now after the scientists scene, suddenly she’s not? I really thought with Shauna taking over as leader it would eventually break the morals most of the girls had built— I don’t mind seeing her struggle with authority but it’s too much of a mess. Due to the rushing of the series, nothing is mapped out in the teen timeline. You can tell the S3 plotline for both timelines were never meant to happen or they don’t have a decent balance anymore. YJ IS NOT A SHOW THAT CAN HAVE 10 EPISODES— DETAILS MATTER. So many things are left unanswered and pointless.
