@RubyPhoenix (2) i also think what mae is getting at with the other mmcs too is that if we’re going to use intentional cruelty as evidence that enzo can never become safe for flora, then we have to apply that standard consistently. the other mmcs have intentionally hurt their fmcs too. u can absolutely say enzo’s actions disturb u more bc of flora’s circumstances, their history and the severity of what shes currently going through - i understand that completely and overly - but thats different from saying the others essentially stopped deliberately hurting their fmcs once they loved them whereas enzo didnt bc that just isnt really true babe
            
            although i do disagree a tiny bit with char on the porter thing bc porter is obviously responsible for choosing to hurt flora BUT enzo can still have causal responsibility for deliberately creating the conditions that made her a target like those two things can coexist but that honestly makes me MORE interested in his redemption bc i dont just want him to realise “oh shit i hurt flora” i want him to realise the extent to which the environment he created around her enabled other ppl to hurt her too

@RubyPhoenix (1) two different questions are getting mixed together here…whether enzo’s actions are horrific is one thing and whether those actions prove that he is uniquely incapable of loving flora without eventually hurting her again is another. i absolutely understand why their history makes what hes doing feel worse bc theres an added tragedy in knowing he once loved her but i dont think history automatically makes love a safeguard against cruelty. if anything his history with flora is literally part of WHY his resentment towards her is so extreme. the person he loved is also, in his mind, the person who betrayed him
            
            and i agree with @maelovesyouu1 that unconditional love does not mean harmless love. love is a feeling/attachment not a moral purification…it doesnt automatically erase resentment, vindictiveness, trauma, pride or whatever other flaws someone already possesses. someone can genuinely love u and still be incredibly destructive towards u which is exactly why loving someone and being capable of loving them well are two different things
            
            i also dont think @charookiesflowstate mentioning that he cares/regrets certain things necessarily minimises his actions when the question ur asking is literally what are the chances he won’t do this again? if we were discussing how morally bad his actions were then saying “but he cares!!” would be irrelevant but if we’re discussing whether his behaviour can change, then signs of internal conflict/restraint/regret ARE relevant. they dont make what he already did any less awful, they just tell us he may not remain psychologically where he currently is forever

@maelovesyouu1 I never intended my argument to make a character look the worst compared to others or anything of that sort and I apologise if it came across that way. My main argument is, what are the chances he won't hurt her again in the future. I just feel like I don't get the same feeling of security that things will never turn bad again like I did with the away series couples.
            He has turned terrible despite having so much history what are the chances it can't happen again?
            And maybe ur right about Adrik situation but | just don't feel like that and what Enzo is doing is comparable. Enzo is literally driving her to suicide, l mean he said it himself
