yep. the amount of criticism i’ve gotten for not having my oc’s cater completely to their love interests is ridiculous. like sorry that i enjoy exploring characters outside of love stories!! 

@AstieBlack you’re literally so right tho. the second the oc has a life separate from the love interest and it impedes on their relationship it’s the end of the world … if you want x readers just go to tumblr (not that there’s anything wrong with x readers but they fit more that idea of quick getting together + romance focused)

@achilleias literally! Some of them are so misogynistic and it shows. Like god forbid if the OC! likes other people before falling for the love interest or if she picks her career/interests/studies over the love interest. And everytime there is a break-up, they pounce upon the oc so bad it makes me want to bang my head (sorry for the rant, I had to get it off my chest)
